John Patrick Shanleys WOMEN OF MANHATTAN

Tap Gallery, Level 1, 278 Palmer St, Darlinghurst

+

Time: 8pm

Women of Manhattan, a play by Academy Award winning author John Patrick Shanley, is being performed for only two weeks in Sydney to celebrate International Womens Day 8th March.

A group of local emerging artists, directed by Alexandra Juchau, are performing this brilliant script at the TAP Gallery in Surry Hills in support of IWD. International Womens Day is a global day celebrating the economic, political and social achievements of women in the past, present and future. Funds being raised at an exclusive industry night will go towards a UNIFEM project to empower migrant workers in Indonesia .

The two week season will be open to the public from Wednesday 17 March, with 10 shows, finishing on Sunday 28 March.

Women of Manhattan is a play that deals with universal concepts of unfulfillment and identity. The three female characters struggle with their attachment to independence and modernity while reconciling their complicated relationships with men. Set in Manhattan in the 1980s, this production is stylish, raw, funny and touching.

Tickets are $25 + booking fee and will be on sale through Moshtix from February 28, at local Moshtix outlets Red Eye Records, Fish Records and Resist Records, or at the door. Further information including performance dates and times is available at www.womenofmanhattan.blogspot.com

Directed by Alexandra Juchau, Produced by Tenille Evans and Amelia Cuninghame
